Assessment91280 - Assessments Exemplars
The first assessment is linked above and you have access to it and to additional materials like exemplars below. EXEMPLAR: Low ExcellenceTo achieve this standard at Excellence the student needs to conduct a reflective social inquiry comprehensively.
The requirements for Achievement and Merit have been met.
To be a more convincing Excellence this response would need to show deeper thinking with more examples/evidence provided to justify the generalisations made. The sample is part of the justified generalisations response that illustrates the comments above. exemplar: Low MeritThere is sufficient evidence for Merit as the inquiry shows some depth and all aspects have been completed including an explanation of points of view.
Specific information has been provided largely by means of quotes. Using large extracts which they struggled to successfully convert into their own words showed limited understanding and the focus of the task can be lost. To be a more convincing Merit response more detailed information could have been stated about the individuals and groups chosen to illustrate points of view. The aim is to achieve depth within the explanation; this could have been done with better incorporation of concepts. Their use in this instance is superficial, eg; democracy, dictatorship, government. The sample is part of the response focusing on the points of view that illustrates the comments above. Exemplar: Low AchievedThere is evidence for each requirement with most, but not all, at the Achievement level. Three broad research questions have been developed, however, by introducing narrower and more specific parameters it could have enable the student to answer in greater depth.
Two viewpoints are briefly given that also explain why the people took the action they did. A short evaluation was attempted, but it would have been more effective if it had followed the guidelines given in explanatory note 3 of the standard. The sample is part of the response that illustrates the comments above. 91282 - Assessments Exemplars
